My new favorite sushi restaurant in edmonton! The place itself is really cute and authentic. The service was really great, and the food was amazing! We ordered miso soup and a maki boat and everything was so fresh and delicious. The prices are great too!

It's probably been more than 15 years since I went to Ichiban and I was in the area for an appointment and stopped just after 1 for lunch. The booths were occupied but there were a row of tables for 2 in the middle and I was seated in one of them. The other tables along the wall were for 4. The staff were attentive to bring me hot water and available to take my food order. I couldn't decide if I wanted a lunch special or to order various rolls. I went with the tempura and sushi bento box for $16. I was asked if I wanted miso soup which I thought was odd as I think it was included but I declined as I'm not a big fan of the soup and usually the amount of food in the bento box leaves me full.
My food didn't take too long to arrive at the table. There were 2 shrimp and about 3 vegetable tempura, tofu, salad, 3 sushi, and rice. What I liked the best about my meal was the dressing on the salad. It was so good, I ate it first and wished there was more to consume. The rest of the meal was average. The fish was sliced a little bit thicker than other places I have eaten at.
I asked for my hot water to be refilled which it was promptly. During my stay, there customers that left and a few more came in so they get a steady stream of people during the lunch time. If I'm in the area again, I would stop by but I wouldn't make a go out of my way to eat here again soon. -

We have been to this restaurant on many occasions and cannot say enough good things about the friendly staff and excellent food. Highly recommended!

A very nice place with polite and helpful staff.
The quality of the food is good and the price is the typical sushi price in Edmonton.
The boats are pretty big with good potions of food.
The special rolls are good too. My usual pick is rainbow which was good. -

This may be a small restaurant in a strip mall but it is perfect for lunches during the week and even dinners on weekdays and weekends. Just make sure you make a reservation for weekends and most nights in case they have a large party. Otherwise, take out is a great option if you live in the area.
The bento boxes are a good price for lunch. I usually get that if I want a variety of food. When I come with co-workers or fiends we tend to share a few rolls or sashimi.
Service is attentive. Not a lot of small talk. There is always complimentary soup with your meals. Sometimes they will even offer you a cup of tea while you are waiting for your take out to be finished.
